Annabella Rijksen | TrainCamp Project
I am doing research on design and climate change and how collaboration and co-creation between designers and scientists, politicians, engineers, etc. can create more positive impact on the environment and our climate.
Together with a few others members of ‘The Turn Club’, a community of over 300 artists in The Netherlands searching to engage their artist mindset in complex social issues, she is traveling to the Green Culture Festival by train.
Slow traveling gives the opportunity to develop the idea further. At the festival she will host workshops.
My thesis is about the wicked problem Climate Change and Design and therefore I did a research about the role of designers and their impact on climate change.
I want to connect designers with people who have other disciplines, so they can co-create and use cross-overs to improve or expand their ideas and concepts. Those concepts must have a positive effect on the climate.
During my journey and at The Green Culture World Festival I will be a matchmaker.
Student Art & Economy

I work together with Matthijs Jaspers of The Happy Activist on a project called ‘WAKKER’. WAKKER is a positive wake-up call to create a sustainable society together. We want to ask students to join this movement and promise that they will not work for polluting companies in the Netherlands.
Together we wake-up everyone in the Netherlands!
I am a member of The Turn Club, because I want to work on social or wicked problems and use a creative approach.
Annabella won the Clean Energy Challenge with the Block-e and is nominated for ‘Duurzame Jonge 100 van 2019‘.
